Ask Twitter vs Google:
Monday, May 11th, 2009Over the last few months I have made huge transition from asking Google questions to asking Twitter. In my experience I get better information from my followers and a few good twitter search sites, than I ever did digging through Google… I love not having to wade through pages and pages of people who have posted on their blogs that : “ they have tried but have not found the answer they need”. Why not interact with people vs asking a huge computer?
I can see the emails now! “But I don’t have thousands of people following me!” well you have a few options, when you ask a question ask people to “RT” ( Re Tweet) you and you can also you these sweet tools:
twitQA :: Is not the most beautiful site, its about as Plane Jane as they come, but it allows you to ask your questions in different categories : Sports, General, Travel, Cars, Environment, News, Health. What makes this great is that twitQA can see questions and gets the info from the Twitter feed, vs you searching hastages on www.search.twitter.com .
IKnowTweet :: is very simple and easy to use it will look for phrases such as “ Where is Asheville, NC” or “Why Is Asheville Really Beer Town USA” It then brings all the answers to one place for you to sort through. There’s an option to answer the questions and a list of popular terms; unfortunately, the site doesn’t list answers anywhere, which makes it a lot less useful than it could be.
So start asking Twitter your questions and see what happens!
